The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar 26579CE holds a landmark place in Audemars Piguet’s history as the first watch the manufacture produced entirely in ceramic — both case and bracelet — when it debuted at SIHH 2017. The achievement was anything but routine: the Royal Oak’s intricately integrated bracelet and faceted octagonal case posed extraordinary challenges in a material six times harder to finish than steel, requiring 600 hours of research and development, with the bracelet finishing alone consuming thirty hours per watch. The result unites Gérald Genta’s 1972 design with one of horology’s most revered complications in a nearly scratchproof, remarkably light stealth-luxury package that remains among the most coveted modern Royal Oaks.

The 41mm case in black ceramic measures 9.5mm thick, framing a slate grey “Grande Tapisserie” dial with black counters, white gold applied hour markers, and a black inner bezel bearing the week indicator. The perpetual calendar displays day at nine, date at three, month and leap year at twelve, and astronomical moon phase at six. The ultra-thin self-winding Caliber 5134, derived from the legendary 2120 of the original Royal Oak, delivers a 40-hour power reserve and is visible through the sapphire caseback. A full black ceramic Royal Oak bracelet with titanium folding clasp completes the watch.
