The Royal Oak Offshore debuted in 1993 with reference 25721ST — designed by Emmanuel Gueit and famously nicknamed “The Beast” by Gérald Genta himself. The reference established an entirely new genre of oversized luxury sport chronographs that has influenced the watchmaking industry ever since. Released in November 2021, reference 26238ST represents the modernized reissue of the original as part of the permanent collection — succeeding the 2018 25th-anniversary limited edition — and faithfully reproduces the 1993 dial architecture with the “Petite Tapisserie” pattern and original 12-9-6 subdial layout. It also introduced the manufacture’s new in-house Caliber 4404 — the first integrated flyback chronograph developed specifically for the Offshore line.

The 42mm case in stainless steel measures 14.4mm thick, framed by the signature octagonal bezel with eight hexagonal screws, blue rubber-clad pushers and screw-locked crown, and sapphire caseback replacing the original 1993 solid back. The blue “Petite Tapisserie” dial carries blue chronograph counters, white gold applied hour markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating, blue inner bezel, and date at three. The in-house automatic Caliber 4404 — 433 components with column wheel and vertical clutch — delivers a 70-hour power reserve, completed by the stainless steel Royal Oak Offshore bracelet with an additional blue rubber strap via interchangeable system.
